New Online Autism Community – talk about autism

I’m contacting you as I thought you might be interested in hearing about an exciting new online community for parents and carers of children with autism. The community, called talk about autism, will allow you to talk to others about the issues surrounding autism, especially education and development of young people and children with autism. Provided by TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education, and sponsored by TalkTalk, it’s due to launch in April – but before then we are looking for founding members to develop and use the forum before it opens to the public.

These founding members can come on the forum to use the features – such as the online discussion forums, ask the expert area and blogging section. No previous knowledge of using forums is needed – we’ll help show you the ropes and get you started. We’re also looking for ‘Champions’ – people who can get more involved in developing the community, welcoming newcomers and helping people. Please find attached further information on becoming a Champion.

If you know of any parents, carers or professionals who might be interested in becoming involved in any way, or might be interested in hearing updates on the community – please pass on the email. I can be contacted at paula@talkaboutautism.org.uk if you would like to ask any questions or express an interest.
